4 HOW DOES E-PSYCHIATRY KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE

E-Psychiatry has advanced security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology for the areas of our site where we ask you to provide personally identifiable information. You can tell you've entered one of these areas when you look at the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in your browser's address bar and see it has "https://" before the rest of the Web address. The "s" means that page is hosted from a secured server. We use secured servers for all the pages on our Site where confidential contact/registration or credit card information is provided to E-Psychiatry.

SSL allows E-Psychiatry to assure that the personal information you give us will be transmitted safely because the information is encrypted. Encryption involves systematic scrambling of numbers and letters so that if someone managed to intercept a digital packet of data, then s/he would not be able to use the data.SSL technology, an industry standard, is designed to prevent someone other than operators of our web site from capturing and viewing your personal information. Some of our other information areas are hosted from servers that do not use SSL. Since we do not collect personal information in these areas, using regular servers allows us to provide a quicker visitor experience. Encrypting information, as we do in the "https://" areas, makes the process of sending information across the Internet much slower. Unsecured pages have URLs that begin with http://.

We store information that we collect through log files to create a profile of our users. Log files record Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, Internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, site and page sequences, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the Site, track a user's movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. A profile is stored information detailing how individual users use the Site. It is used solely for internal purposes, to help us improve the experience of our users. We do not share your profile with any third parties.
